Secular Media Blackout: March for Life 2013

Last year an estimated 500,00 people of all ages and religious backgrounds walked together to support the God given rights of the unborn. You'd think that the media would jump all over any event with numbers like this - but sadly - it's a mainstream media blackout. You'll have to tune in to EWTN to catch any footage of the 2013 March for Life.

This photograph of my friend Ted was taken during last years march. My husband and I take a bus with our parish, Cure of Ars, Merrick, N.Y. We pray the rosary, sing the chaplet of Divine Mercy and enjoy the antics of our pastor Father Charles Mangano on the way to Washington.

Throughout the day we march, pray and sing with hundreds of thousands of Catholics and other like-minded pro-lifers. It is a unifying, prayerful experience. Last year we marched in the rain - a small sacrifice for the unborn who are massacred in untold numbers day after day, year after year.

Courageous women from "Silent No More" who've had abortions and regret it hold up black "I Regret My Abortion" signs. I cry every time I see those women (and men!) Please come and march in Washington with us on January 25th. Please join your voice with ours - so together - we can speak for those who have no voice. I also urge you to write, tweet, call and e-mail ABC, CBS, NBC and affiliates and challenge them to cover this event.

  1. Great post Deb!
As someone who works in Pro-Life Ministry and counseling full time, I cannot stress the importance of the March for Liofe enough as well. GO! Go and pray, and sacrifice for the repeal of this "law". Only by public witness and evangelization can we hope to end this holocuast.
